Washington state residents, please call us directly regarding insurance

Travel Concepts International, Inc. (TCI) was formed by League of Women Voters member Gwen Erwood in 1984 to organize tours, predominately for members. The League of Women Voters is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization encouraging active and informed citizen participation in the American political system. In 1987 TCI was incorporated in the State of New York. And so, for almost a decade we have been bringing members together to further the League's position of promoting peace in an interdependent world. Our travelers have enjoyed exciting and exotic international destinations and have met with counterpart organizations from around the world. Most of our cultural tours incorporate highlights, home and school visits, optional embassy briefings and people-to-people contact.

Though Travel With The League began exclusively as a League of Women Voters project, our travelers, thanks to word of mouth endorsements, extend beyond LWV to include the United Nations Association, Peace Links, AAUW and friends of those who travel. We share experiences, good humor, and a love of history and culture, which is unparalleled. Many of our trips foster lasting friendships. We carefully plan these cultural tours to better understand the world and its people. The greatest compliment is that many of our travelers join us again and again, encouraging their friends to come along.

On our tours you will travel in security and confidence, with highly qualified and personable guides. Through their personal commentary, you will have an in-depth look at the country and its people. Our small group (usually fifteen to twenty persons), allows us to travel off-the-beaten path. We believe that small groups make a big difference! The composition of the groups include singles and couples of all ages. We especially welcome inter generational families who wish to build lasting memories. Need a roommate? Let us try to match you with a suitable roommate to avoid the single supplement. After all, you'll be traveling with like-minded folks and in the very best of company!

We sincerely appreciate your trust, and we'll do our very best to make sure your travel experience is full, rewarding and great fun!

A note from Gwen:

Dear World Travelers,

This year we are celebrating 20 years of delivering our promise to expand your horizons through Cultural Tours to Better Understand the World and its People.

As of this date we are all agonizing over the human suffering of those along the Gulf Coast whose lives have been forever changed or even lost. You have probably already made a donation, but if not, please consider a contribution to Project HOPE (Health Opportunities for People Everywhere) found online at www.projecthope.org. This devastation proves that there is nowhere one is completely safe, and those who are reluctant to travel may be missing one of the greatest joys of their lives. You’ll never regret traveling. The old “Placerville Post” is renamed “The Serious Traveler.” If you desire to have meaningful contact with people of diverse cultures, as well as see the monuments they have built, then you are one of us! We travel in small groups of 10 to 15 curious men and women of all ages. You’ll see in our tour lineup that we venture off-the-beaten track to the world’s most exotic destinations. We always travel in the best of company and safety with top-notch guides who are with us every step of the way.

You may ask, “Am I a serious traveler?” Perhaps you know you are. Or, perhaps you say, “Well, I’m not sure, but I’d like to be.”

Please enjoy our newsletter. Call today, or visit our website for more information about any of our exciting tours!

A note from Gwen:

Holiday Greetings!
We wish you health, happiness and a world at PEACE in 2005. There are people of good-will the world over with whom we work closely, and they too are sending you their best wishes. They are eager to show you their countries in a very personal way. We think of those who travel in our small groups as a close circle of friends. It is gratifying to know that so many precious friendships are formed by sharing travel experiences. Now that the U.S. elections are over, we enter a new year fully convinced that more than ever Americans must present a friendly face to the world. Don’t you agree? News...We are offering a new series of tours called Between Weekends. These shorter, affordable vacations have all the features you’ve come to appreciate from TCI: excellent guides, small groups, the best of travelers and a chance to learn and grow. We work our hardest to make sure our tours are total experiences that enhance your life. Most of our 2005 Cultural Tours to Better Understand the World and Its People are listed in this newsletter. In addition, we now provide a monthly update upon request. The most updated material, however, is on our website. Please visit us often and bookmark your favorite destinations.

Dear Friends,
Someone mentioned in amazement, “You go all over!” Yes we do! Please have a look at our delicious line up for the next year! These are all safe destinations, though exotic! We are in the business of making travel dreams come true. Even those who say they don’t like organized tours love our trips. How would you ever find some of these places on your own – without total exhaustion? Another of our precious travelers contributed the thought, “I would have been there on my own and missed it” (it being the highlight of the trip). You may notice the pricing of some of our tours has increased, but we hope you feel it is worth it to travel in a group of between ten and fifteen participants. I can tell you it thrills my heart when I receive comments like, “Loved the quality of the group”, or “Great group of people to travel with.” We say time and again that our travelers are the best and even the guides say, “What socially aware and good people you have!” We feel much of the benefit of our trips is not only connecting you with the world, but with other Americans who share common values. So, in that good company we are off to some unusual destinations. You’ll see Libya new on the lineup of Cultural Tours to Better Understand the World Its People, joining our established destinations – all over! Please do keep in touch and bookmark our website, www.tci-travel.com. We update the pages often so remember to refresh.

Dear Friends,
This message comes to you from a grateful heart! Amazingly this has been one of TCI's best years ever! Why? Because our travelers know, as Mark Twain said, Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sail. Explore. Dream. Discover. Our travelers are doing just that- again and again! 2003 marks the 100th anniversary of the Wright Brother's first flight. Doesn't it amaze you to think that in the entire history of mankind, only in these last few decades can the average person go to places that kings and queens could only imagine seeing? Now we can easily step into spaces reserved for only the properly initiated - the Forbidden City for example. We know that perhaps 95% of the American population would have no interest in exploring Buddhist monasteries in the Himalayas, poking through the cozy churches of the Kremlim, or seeing today's "forbidden" places like Cuba or Iran. Yet, there are a select few. And little by little, we're finding you! Enjoy this delicious lineup of tours already scheduled,
Cultural Tours to Better Understand the World Its People. There's more to follow. If we have your email address, you'll be the first to know.
